Introduction The Victoreen 1060AM-V by Fluke Biomedical was developed in response to a customer driven requirement for a vehicle mounted detector that can alert first responders to the presence of gamma radiation. This product is designed to warn a response team prior to leaving the truck and entering a field of radiation so that the truck can move to a radiation safe perimetr and help them assess an incident scene with a minimum of exposure.
The 1060AM-V is a vehicle mounted radiation detection system designed for reliable, continuous monitoring applications. The unit collects, interprets, analyzes, and communicates radiation measurement data. It is available in low, medium, and high range versions employing internal Geiger-Mueller (FM) detectors. Circuitry tat detects pulse pileup conditions in a high radiation field is employed to prevent erroneous readings.
WIN 1060 PC applications program provides the ability to display multiple channels, to maintain both alarm and measurement history, and to access system configuration options. The 1060DA optional remote display, consisting of a visual alarm indicator and a 100 decibel audible alarm along with a self scaling digital readout, is also available.
Applications
The 1060AM-V is available in multiple versions supporting a wide range of monitoring applications. In addition, the 1060AM-V provides an EMI shielded watertight National Electrical Manufacturers' Association (NEMA) enclosure that is CE marked can be easily mounted inside or outside an emergency response vehicle. Remote display with alarm lam is available for mounting inside the emergency response vehicle.
