Barium Swallow Chair:

Supertech offers the VESS Chair that is an adaptive seating device for the Modified Barium Swallow Radiographic studies. Departments of Radiology and Speech-Language Pathology are collaborating in the assessment and treatment

The VESS Chair is an innovative device which provides adaptive seating, plus assures patient safety, patient security and comfort, and staff safety and prevention of work injury.

The VESS Chair is constructed of rotation molded polyethylene and vinyl. The steel tubing base is covered by vacuum formed plastic. A demonstration video is available upon request.

Barium Swallow Chair comes complete with:

  • I.V. Stand Holder

  • Chart Holder

  • Oxygen Tank Holder

  • Foley Bag Holder

  • Removable Arms

  • Linear Actuator Tilting Device

  • Front Wheel Locking Mechanism for better steering control

Features Unique to the Vess Chair:

  • Size, with the ability to fit between the fluoroscopy table and the imaging screen for both lateral and A/P views.

  • Radiolucency

  • Adaptability to accommodate contracted or mobility impaired patients.

  • Ergonomic profiled seat.

  • Tilting feature, which allows for further accommodation of the flexed patient or those who cannot be seated more upright. The degree of tilt can be adjusted during the imaging study.

  • Ease of cleaning and maintenance.

  • Transportability, with the patient placed in the exam chair at bedside and transported to the Radiology Department. Wheels are deluxe locking, rotating casters. A front wheel locking mechanism allows for better steering control.
